Great place to stay of grid. What a great Villa this is, with views all around. I would stay here again at the drop of the hat.

  2. PaulPP

Charming cottage in a great setting and with great hosts. I’m looking forward to going back again and picking up where I left off on the trail bikes…

A perfect retreat and base for exploration. Nick brought me safely in and then left me to get settled in (a cold beer was a good start). Lovely little Finca, very comfortable and clean and all mod cons – except they are eco and off the grid! I wandered outside, had fantastic views of a pair of Sardinian Warblers that were feeding chicks in a nest in the Rosemary bushes below the house. Nearly stepped on a rabbit and saw other beautiful wildlife like Woodchat Shrike and Golden Oriole. I had to move on or I would still be there…

What an excellent place to stay and off-grid (although they do have WiFi)! Fab couple too. Nick and Debbie made you feel so welcome. Nick took my brother and I for an off-road adventure on the trails around the area they live. What a fantastic day. Enjoyed every moment. You won’t be disappointed. See our short video here when we visited them in April 2018: https://youtu.be/xydjSwiW0bQ

Perfect place to relax, tranquil, picturesque, historic towns to explore nearby and some excellent trails to ride on if you want to get your adrenaline going! I’m looking forward to my next visit already 🙂

My boyfriend and I had a short stay in May this year and I for one can’t wait to go back. The accommodation is very well appointed, spotlessly clean and has everything you might need. Nick and Debbie are both fantastic hosts and the location of the property means they are nearby in case of any issues while giving you privacy too. The local trails are challenging yet manageable for an off-road novice like me and the bikes provided are perfect for the job. The area is beautiful and I wish we had had more time to explore it.

We visited for a family holiday. Beautiful location and accommodation very comfortable and many thoughtful touches for visitors. So much to do there, but you do need transport. Lovely beaches close by. The girls had riding lessons with Debbie and thoroughly enjoyed them and she was an excellent teacher, we went for a lovely, but quite arduous bicycle ride on a disused railway track in the mountains, which was so pretty. Nick and Debbie always on hand to advise, suggest lots of things/places to explore in the area. We could have stayed a lot longer, and will do so next time.

What a great place and location on the hill with wonderful views. Perfect location to stop on our bike tour around Catalonia. Lovely spacious villa, well equipped, very comfortable and we wanted for nothing. Back soon hopefully.

Fantastic! Great host, great location and great facilities. I can’t recommend this enough. I went early October and I’m back again in November. Thanks Nick!

We have just come back from a week staying Nick and Debbie’s finca. We loved it. It’s lovely and peaceful, but with a surprising amount to see and do not too far away. I would recommend hiring a car.

Nick and Debbie are great hosts with plenty of advice for those – like me – who are new to the area. Highlights for us were a ride along the Via Verde, climbing the mountain at the back of the finca and visiting the coast at Hopital d’Infant.

We hope to come back before too long…

Late autumn break in picturesque Catalonia. Our lovely hosts Nick and Debbie were fantastic, full of local knowledge and good cheer. The Finca is well equiped and a perfect base to get to the coast or mountains. The local village has lots to offer, we had a really good vaccation. Highly recommended

Early May,2019, I spent a week riding off road with Catalan Adventure. Honda CRF250L were nicely prepared. Nick’s knowledge of the trails and surronding history was astounding. The self Catering accomodation was more than adequate for any adventure enthusiast. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and highly recommend to anyone with moderate to advance off road skills.

  17. Stuart Rosser

We had an amazing time at Catalan Adventure, the accomodation far exceeded our expectations.Very comfortable with everything you need from provisions and beers in the fridge to wifi…!
The day out on the trails was great, the CRF250’s are a great bike and Nicks local knowledge of the trails meant we made use of all the time out on the bikes. Stopping for lunch at the local racetrack was an added bonus!
Thouroughly recommend this place, both Debbie and Nick made us feel very welcome and we have already been talking about a return visit in the near future…

Our first time in Catalonia and a truly wonderful trip. Nick and Debbie’s finca is in a beautiful location, quiet, remote and rural, but only 10 minutes drive to the nearest town and 40 minutes drive to the coast, through the mountains and old villages. The scenery in the whole area is stunning and there is such a variety of things to do, which Nick and Debbie are very happy to recommend and/or arrange. It is obvious from the little touches they have added in the finca that they are passionate about the area and their home, and that makes a very welcoming, homely atmosphere, but at the same time gives you a sense of the real Spain. We definitely want to go back!

  19. JUSTIN OGILVIE

Great place to stay..off the beaten track…lovely location and literally on some great off road trails…Taking the hire car off road up the mountain is not recommended but was great fun
The local tarmac roads are just fantastic…Very well looked after by Nick and Debbie in a well appointed chalet which has everything you need..perfect getaway location..lovely chalet..great hosts..what could you want
    We’ll be back

  20. Paddy Tyson

I just loved it! From the peace and tranquility provided by the beautiful setting, to the cleanliness and the fact that they have thought of everything, right down to a pint of milk in the fridge so we could have a cuppa on arrival. It’s a spacious, fully equipped finca and was just perfect for our family. The cherry on top is that it’s all solar powered. I then took advantage of Nick’s local knowledge and followed him through the trails for a day on one of his Honda CRF250s. It’s a remarkable area and a great place to base yourself for a few days. I will definitely be back and am in the process of organising it already.

If you want to get away from crowds but still have plenty of activity options, this is the place – we loved the trail riding experiences, on both horseback and trail bike. The town, which had all the facilities we needed, was a fairly easy ride on the borrowed pushbikes (thanks, Nick & Debbie!) and it suited us to manage without a hire car.

It’s possible to step out of the door and to be, in moments, in the mountains gaping at eagles soaring on the thermals. It’s magical, and at the end of the day to sit and sip wine accompanied by the sound of the cicadas and the scent of the pinewoods is just perfect!

Many thanks to Nick and Debbie for a great holiday – you could not have been better hosts managing to be helpful and friendly and yet respecting our privacy – well done! In our week at the finca we barely scratched the surface of what the area has to offer; we enjoyed a few days of trail riding on the nimble CRFs (plenty of climbs, views and coffee stops) combined with exploring the history of the area (especially interesting to us were the Spanish Civil War sites and the castles), riding the fabulous empty roads on our big bikes, seeing the nearby race circuit and enjoying the lovely riverside bars in the nearby Mora d’Ebre. Time flew by and we didn’t even get to see the sea, take a canoe out, walk, ride a horse or cycle anywhere or even go out to dinner! The finca is well appointed and restful and we couldn’t resist sitting out under the stars every night just enjoying the sounds of the critters of the night. We would thoroughly recommend this place and will try to return someday.

We stayed at Nick’s place for a couple of days back in September. The house is amazing, much more that I was expecting for the money.
We did a bike tour with Nick an it was also amazing. He knows some nice rides around the area an would highly recommend it .
The bikes was also kept in top condition

Cheers nick … might see you next year

If you want to escape from day to day life and the hustle and bustle of towns and cities, this is the place to be!

It’s a beautiful little home in the Catalan countryside and our group of 4 were more than comfortable here.

It’s a very relaxing environment with lots of nature and wildlife around.

The hosts are brilliant, very warm and welcoming. They are just across the way in their own home nearby, so if there’s ever anything you need, they’re more than happy to help.

Its helpful to have a good high clearance vehicle, the roads are befu rural and rugged, butbthats part of what made it such fun.

We stayed for 3 nights but easily could’ve done much longer as there’s quite a lot to see and do in the local area.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
